Industrial & Commercial Fiberglass Dampers
Kenway manufactures proprietary fiberglass dampers also known as FRP dampers. We provide FRP flow control dampers and FRP isolation dampers for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. Manual and mechanical actuator systems are available.
Manufacturing FRP Dampers
We manufacture our fiberglass dampers with the best corrosion resistant ECR glass and fire-retardant vinyl ester resins available. The mechanical components for the damper are available in FRP and metallics such as 316L, Titanium, and Hastelloy. We supply our FRP damper shaft seals and seats in any material suitable for a specific service. The materials available range from simple EPDM or silicone up through virgin PTFE and other specialty products.
FRP Damper Mounting Design
The FRP damper mounting design can be matched to customer specifications including full face, backup ring (Vanstone) or plain ended. We manufacture our dampers in sizes ranging from 2ӯ through 48ӯ. However, we can make larger dampers when necessary.
FRP Tank Lining
Kenway will develop the new FRP tank lining using the best resin systems and reinforcements available. The FRP tank lining can be replaced in kind or enhanced for changes in service such as different chemicals content, concentrations or operating temperatures. Kenway Composites has over 60 years of expertise in relining fiberglass vessels in Pulp & Paper and other heavy corrosion industries. We have the knowledge and expertise to work with a customer to design a lining system that will restore the vessel back to like new condition and extend the tanks useful life for many years.
After a thorough inspection and evaluation process, our engineers will also address any structural issues that may be present due to excessive wear. We have the technical expertise to design and install a structural reinforcement layer in the tank before the application of a new corrosion barrier. Kenway can restore the vessel to OEM design or make improvements to address operational upgrades. This statement is true for both the structural and corrosion layers. Kenway can install double veil corrosion layers that will improve tank performance and extend service life beyond the original design.
Kenway has experience successfully installing FRP liners in tanks and other structures made of different substrates including steel, tile, brick, and concrete. We have the know-how necessary to install monolithic fiberglass liners onto dissimilar substrates through proprietary anchoring methods. We can install new nozzles, inserts, and manways during the relining process allowing for operational flexibility and improved maintenance access. Our linings are chemically bonded to any of the appurtenances that we add or repair to eliminate potential leak points.
Kenway Composites technicians are American Composites Manufacturers Association, CCT (Certified Composites Technician) accredited. We can provide detailed references about our relining expertise for any size or shape tank in many different applications.
